The Samsung UN55D8000 is also of course a 3D TV, with full support for 3D movies and shows. The TV comes with active glasses, and those are much improved over past models, with a thinner frame, and they are lighter as well. Thanks to the redesigned concept, they balance the weight between front and back, meaning they won’t be as awkward to wear. The glasses communicate using Bluetooth, which unfortunately means they will not work on other TVs, and if you already have older infrared glasses, those won’t work on this TV either. You connect the glasses to the TV to charge them up. Two pairs of glasses are included in the base price. The remote itself has a full QWERTY keyboard in order to access all the Samsung extras and the web browser, while the TV itself supports full 1080p HD video.
As a 55″ LED TV, this is a great choice, and delivers on a lot of technology advancements that past models didn’t provide. It’s a high end solution, and to have access to all these nice features you’ll have to shell out around $3,000 or more, although like any other TV price it will go down over time. Overall, this TV compares very well with other brands of the same price, and will give you a great HD and 3D entertainment for a large living home, or anywhere you can fit such a big gadget. There’s very little you could be missing from the Samsung UN55D8000, and it’s sure to fulfill any need you may have for a modern TV set.
